William T. Sheehan at 61

Mr. William T. Sheehan, 61, of Mendon MA, died Saturday (July 2, 2016) at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Gildea) Sheehan.

Mr. Sheehan was born in Framingham MA, the son of the late William F. Sheehan and the son of Elinor M. (Kairit) Sheehan of Medway MA. Son-in-Law of the late Doris and Richard Gildea, Mr. Sheehan attended Holliston public schools and was a graduate of Holliston High School, Class of 1973.

Mr. Sheehan had been employed at Corning in Medfield, Polyflex in Cranston RI and Boston Scientific in Milford, but the best part of his career was his love of being a stay at home dad, raising 3 wonderful sons. He enjoyed many years organizing and coaching Mendon baseball leagues. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed following college and professional sports.

Along with his beloved wife of 33 years & his loving mother, he is survived by 3 Sons: William F. Sheehan of Mendon MA, Thomas P. Sheehan and his fiancée Lisa Capone of Boston MA and Michael P. Sheehan of Mendon MA; Leaves behind 5 Sisters: Kathleen Sheehan of Medway MA, Karen Gordon of St. Augustine FL, Jean Sheehan and her companion Steven Tutuny of Mendon MA, Joan Sheehan and her companion Michael McGillicuddy of Franklin MA and Theresa Maguire and her husband Timothy of Medway MA; Brother-in-law to Christine Hunewill of New Hampton NH, Patricia Higgins-Altobello of Wareham MA, Richard Gildea of London UK, Mark Gildea of Milford MA, Thomas Gildea of Millis MA and Sean Gildea of Franklin MA; Also will be missed by many close aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.

Friends and Family are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday (July 8th) at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 708 Washington Street (Rte 16) in Holliston MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Holliston MA. Visiting hours will be Thursday (July 7th) from 5pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.                                       

Memorial donations may be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Society, c/o Greater New England Chapter, 101A First Avenue, Waltham MA 02451.
