Easter Egg Hunt

by Bill Tobin
April 9, 2017

The Community Farm Advisory Committee held its first annual Easter Egg Hunt at Holliston Community Farm on Rogers Road for kids age 1-12.

It was a perfect day for the Community Farm Easter Egg Hunt, sunshine but a bit chilly. That was not a problem for the 120 egg hunters.

The egg hunt was scheduled to begin at 10am and the hunters began signing in about an hour in advance. The cost of admission was $5.00 per hunter with a maximum of $15.00 for a family. There were three age categories: 0-4 years and 85 signed up in this age, the second age was 5-8 with 35 in this age group. Only 5 hunters were in the 9-12  bracket.

Thanks to PJ  Kilkelly, there was the opportunity to get close and pet the bunnies, baby goats and chickens. The chickens had prepared the eggs for the hunt in advance.

The Easter Bunny  greeted kids of all ages.

The hunt is about to begin as Committee member Amine Benali guides the kids to the places where the hidden eggs would be.

This hunter was very successful with his full basket of colorful eggs.

Kriss Westland, Chair of the Community Garden Committee expressed appreciation to the committee members who made this such a great event.
