HYBSA’s Opening Day Parade

by Paul Saulnier
May 8, 2017

This appears to be chaos at Placentino moments before the parade begins.

But Tom McHugh, coordinator for HYBSA’s Opening Day Parade, had it all under control. The parade began a few minutes after 1 PM on a perfect Spring Day.

As usual, the fire trucks fell in line behind Holliston's Finest and then the antique cars followed.

Selectman Jay Leary hitched a ride with me and took all the pictures along the route - when he was not throwing candy to the kids.

When the fire trucks continued up Church Street, Jay joined up with Representative Carolyn Dykema and marched with the kids back to the fields on Woodland Street.

Holliston's Finest secured the end of the parade as usual.
