Police Memorial Day Observed

Friends, former police officers, town officials and family of the late John E. Johnson gathered graveside Monday morning to observe Police Memorial Day.

Former Police Chiefs in attendance included John Moore, Jim Petersen, Larry Marsell and Bill George.

Father Mark of St. Mary's Church led those assembled in prayer.

Police Chief Matt Stone led the police delegation which included the police dispatchers.

Officer Johnson was 31 years old when he was gunned down in August of 1981 after making a vehicle traffic stop near 459 Washington Street.. His killer remains behind bars.
