When The Catch Isn't Worth the Chase Anymore

by Bobby Blair
June 17, 2017

W'e've certainly enjoyed ourselves ourselves the past 42 years Sylvia Stickney told this reporter recently as we toured her and husband Bill's antique shop at 86 Church Street. The two story carriage house itself harkens back to yesteryear, and the items inside hold memories of trips to Maine and a long journey to Louisiana to pick up antiques in a convertible. This set of dishes is almost complete Sylvia motioned towards the wall, except it's missing the small plates, I don't know why.

Looking to close this chapter in their lives, the Stickney's are planning to close their antique shop, the Yankee Picker. "Everything must go and all sales are final"  the postcard proclaims "Sale 50% Off". Hours for the sell-off are 10am to 4 pm Wednesday thru Saturday. Call 508-380-3521. Will Bill be helping you bake in the kitchen now, Sylvia, with all his free time?
