Engine 4 Paces Through the Drill

Members of Engine Company #4 were put through a training drill Saturday morning on Pope Road several hundred feet from their station.

Capt. John Murphy and Lt. Sean Irr told HollistonReporter.com that the excercise was in anticipation of a planned muster between local engine companies next month.

The planned muster will not only be a training exercise but a recruiting tool according to Chief Michael Cassidy. Cassidy stated that the department is about to face a retirement tsunami and will be looking for younger blood to fill open slots.

With Engine #4's  station now located in a central location (Pope Road) in the west end of town, Cassidy said the response time for fires in that section of town has decreased.
