The Soul Sensations Perform at Goodwill Park

by Matt Ristaino
July 26, 2017

The clouds finally parted and a fairly large crowd came out to see The Soul Sensations perform as a part of the Goodwill Park summer concert series on Tuesday. The band treated those who braved the chilly weather to an excellent collection of “Motown”, R&B, and rock music.

Doug Londraville, the band’s drummer and business manager, said that the group has been together for 12 years. According to Londraville, the band is based out of East Hampton, Massachusetts, and most of the band’s members live in western Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Tuesday was the first time that the band played in Holliston, and Londraville said that the Holliston parks and recreation department, which hosts the summer concert series, reached out to them and asked them to come perform.

“95 per cent of our gigs are private events,” said Londraville, “but we like to play publicly occasionally. We’re happy to be here.”

Londraville described the band’s music selection as everything from classic to contemporary, including songs from artists ranging from Whitney Houston to Bruno Mars.

The band has seven members in total, with two lead singers, a guitarist, a bassist, a keyboardist, a saxophonist, and Londraville on the drums. Londraville said that every member of the band has some sort of musical degree, and some are school music teachers.
