Celebrate Holliston 2017 Announces Another New Sponsor: BDR Automotive

by Press Release
September 2, 2017

This year we are excited to spotlight the businesses who have stepped forward to sponsor Celebrate Holliston.  These sponsors, from Holliston and beyond, have recognized not only the importance of supporting our community but also the value in getting to know you, the residents.  Please take a minute to read about today's business spotlight and why they have chosen to give back in such a great way to our town.

Tell us about your business

BDR Automotive has been in business in Holliston for seven years! We are a family owned, full service, independent auto repair facility specializing in all foreign and domestic vehicles. We believe family owned businesses are about their people, their pride in workmanship and the values they bring to their customers, community and family. We are dedicated to redefining your auto repair experience by treating you ethically and honestly while providing the highest quality service.

How long have you sponsored Celebrate Holliston and why do you do it?

This is our first year as an official sponsor for Celebrate Holliston.  I am happy to be a part of something great in our town, that gives back and focuses on bringing our community together as well as contributing to the improvement of our town.  We also plan to give a away a car to a deserving community member who is in need but also gives back to our town in some capacity. As a way to say thank you.  Giving back to our community can happen in so many ways just as Celebrate Holliston gives back, we want to celebrate a community member for givng back as well.

Tell us a story about your business that readers might find entertaining or humorous?

Our business doesn’t have as many entertaining or humorous stories as it does peculiar and down right gross! Reason your brakes feel funny... could be the road kill stuck in your brakes! Odd smell in the car... could be the other family living under your hood of the rodent variety! One technician recreated a scene from Charlottes Web when thousands of baby spiders were born...while he was taking apart the car! Never hesitate to call us when something just doesn’t seem right with your car, we have seen it all!!!

What do you love about Holliston?  What is your favorite part of town or bit of history or even season?

I love Holliston for its community.  Our family and extended family have owned businesses in Holliston for many generations.  All the way back to Rossini Bros. Ice Company 1937 – 1939. Then for those who remember, Walter’s Dairy at Rossini Corner. Ma Rossini, my great grandmother, and her four sons owned and operated Walter’s Dairy (1940 - 1984) and from there a long line of Rossini’s have had their own businesses in town as well.  It’s practically a family tradition! The community is what makes the difference and I am proud to say I am a part of it. Not only do I own a business in Holliston I am also raising my family here.

Looking at my folder of receipts for work done on my car, I have been a customer of BDR since 3/28/2011, when the business was first located at 20 Whitney Street. I had gone there in frustration with a problem that someone else, with perfectly good intentions, had simply been unable to fix. BDR's owner, Brian Rossini, fixed the problem easily, for which I was very grateful. Right from the start, I have been impressed with the honesty, courtesy and accuracy of all the work I have since had done at BDR, and I particularly credit Brian for this, and have been happy to see his business expand to several employees. While I have no memory of what year the business was relocated to 1605 Washington St., I can say with certainty that all the good traits I observed from my first encounter with this auto repair shop have remained. I highly recommend BDR to anyone and everyone.
