You can add all kinds of traffic signals and stop signs. Nothing will change until drivers drive with their minds on what they are doing. Norfolk street has a 20 mph speed limit from Central Street to the top of the hill past Franklin Street. When I drive at that speed limit I get tailgated, horns sounded at me and even some getting out of their cars at the stop sign to show road rage. We need to give the Police more money to have more officers for traffic duty.

Not sure that one should need the flashing light to begin with. Sort of obvious that there is an intersection if you are paying attention. No matter what the same type of problem occurs on Elliot St. in Ashland. They have more technology, signs, flashing things... still a problem. I wonder how fast the cars are going on Central. I'd hazard a bet they are not going the speed limit.

There was another accident here a few days ago. I have pictures. I have believed for a long time that this should be a 4 way stop intersection. We just need to change the yellow bulbs for Central Street to red bulbs. I have already mentioned this to two of our three Selectmen and was advised to write a letter to the Police Chief advocating for this change. This would also have a more traffic calming effect for the rail trail crossing.

Perhaps instead of the overhead blinking light (red coming onto Central - which can't easily be seen if the trees aren't trimmed back - and yellow on Central) they could put a FLASHING STOP SIGN on Norfolk St. (Medway has them in various locations...like the corner of Lovering Street entering Holliston St. (Norfolk St. once it's in Medway) and the 4-way stop at Franklin St. and Village St.
