by Paul Saulnier
September 29, 2017

September 23, 2017. Kidde Fenwal, 400 Main Street, Ashland. In spite of soaring temps and blazing sun, car enthusiasts and spectators turned out in record numbers to support the American Cancer Society's research programs.

Local businesses also supported the reseach by sponsoring a trophy for the car or truck they liked best.

The variety of cars spanned the range of possibilities, including this brand new Ferrari, above, to this home-made Rat Rod, below.

Peter Kamitian, above center, son of Holliston's famed high school principal, Bedros (Jid) Kamitian, is the Comptroller of Kidde Fenwal. Peter has run this event since its inception. "Our Team has been the top fundraising Team at Relay For Life for approximately the last 7 years and this year we were the #1 fundraising team in New England raising over $41,000.00," said Peter. The folks in the red shirts are also Kidde Fenwal employees who donate thier time to run this event.

Holliston residents and car owners turned out in large numbers and some took home trophies.

Rich from Holliston, above on the right, won a trophy for his 1974 Citroen 2CV6. Ed Rose, left, of Roses Automotive, is a sponsor and helped Peter establish this car show.

Holliston resident Jeff won Best Import with his 2017 Audi R8

Bruce from Holliston earned the trophy for Best Sports car (a 2017 red Ferrari 488 Spyder)

Mark and Linda Ahronian sponsored the show and picked as their favorite the 1968 Corvette owned by Chris of Holliston.

Sponsor Quality Auto Body owner Gary D'Alessandro, above left, had the pleasure of picking Best of Show. He chose a 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood owned by Chuck, pictured below left..

The blue 1932 Ford 3 window coupe street rod of Holliston resident Wayne Smith was picked by Yours Truly for the CIVILized Solutions' trophy.

Peter promises to hold the show again next year with a few new ideas to make it even better.
