Celebrate Holliston Parade Winners Announced

This year’s 26th Annual Celebrate Holliston parade participants started entering the Placentino staging area as early as 7:45 a.m. They were greeted by cheerful volunteers directing them to their line-up area.  Before we knew it, the staging area was packed and it was 9:00 a.m.  Let the Parade begin! Immediately, out of the gate, the parade participants were tossing candy, fire trucks were sounding their horns, the clatter of huffs were welcomed with loud cheers and happy faces from all ages along the parade route. The route was filled with 69 units including scouts, political parties, neighborhood bicyclists, local businesses of all industries, musical groups, antique cars, trucks and tractors, cheerleaders, gymnastics teams, etc.  So many, it was a huge challenge for the judges to choose the winners for this year’s Celebrate Holliston Parade.  But they did…..and they are the following:


Best Band – Middle School on Hay Wagon
Best Float – Mayo Industries
Loudest Band – Holliston High School Band
Greatest Community Spirit – Holliston Youth Cheerleaders
Best Use of Color – Orangetheory
Creative Use of Costumes – Theater 370 HHS
Tallest Equipment – Tree Specialists, Inc.
Most Flexible – Shen’s Gymnastics

More Feral Cats Get Attention Good news. During the snow storm on Wednesday, January 12, we trapped the big black male cat with white paws who wanders around the old lumber yard pit, Railroad Street and Church Street.
