Emergency personnel were called to the area of the quarry behind Pinecrest Golf Course Wednesday afternoon at 3:33 pm for a report of a child with a head injury. Police and fire services accessed the area from the water tower road off Beatrice Road. The 14 year old male had taken a twenty foot fall. Ashland's Advanced Life Saving Paramedicis were called to the scene.

Due to the difficult terrain, the patient was transported through the woods via Pinecrest Road. A parent accompanied the youth as he was transported to UMass Medical in Worcester.
