Delayed Workweek Brings Slew of Accidents

by Bobby Blair
December 26, 2017

Motorists appeared to be making up for the long holiday weekend on Tuesday with numerous accidents in town. At 5:20 am a trash truck struck a utility pole in the 1200 block of Washington Street. Several hours later at 7:15 am a two car crash along Concord Street. At 9:36 the fire department responded for a direct alarm at Mission Springs, on Summer Street. A possible rear ending along Washington Street only added to a slowing of traffic and Verizon trying to repair damage from trash truck/pole incident.

At 1:15 pm  yet another motor vehicle accident along Washington Street. This one involved three vehicles. The photo above and below were taken at 3:15 pm for a two vehicle accident at Norfolk and Central Streets. The ambulance arrived at this scene, the extent of injuries is unknown. Earlier in the day a person called to report a hit and run (vehicle) at their residence on Great Meadow Road.
