The Holliston Lions Club and the Holliston Athletic Boosters Association have teamed up for worthy causes.

They are both selling Big Board Squares for the February 5th Super Bowl and will share the profits to support their respective interests.

The Super Bowl Game is fast approaching and this is your last chance to join the fun and also make this a great fundraiser..

The Holliston Lions are once again teaming with HABA on the SuperBowl Squares Fundraiser!

Each Square costs $100 and earns you a chance to win one of four prizes ranging from $500 to $1500 now based on the scores at the end of each quarter.

Buy a square yourself or pair up with friends and family to share a square. This is a fun way to really enjoy the game and support Holliston.

 Here are the "rules",,,

There are 100 squares on the Big Squares Board.

The scores at the Super Bowl game determine the winners.  Knowledge of football is not required, just good old luck. The odds are great, 1 in 25 chance to win a prize and 1 in 100 chance to win the grand prize of $1500. Prize money will be awarded at the end the first quarter of the game, at half time, at the end of the third quarter and, of course, at the end of the game.

At the end of the first quarter, the holder of the square with the digits of the score will win $500, and the prize at half time is $750, Another $500 will be given out at the end of the third quarter, and $1500 will go to the person with the right square of the final score. It is possible that the same person could win more than once, too.

Proceeds will assist the Lions in the charities they support including Eye Research, Local Charities and College Scholarships as well as the HABA organization and their fundraising in support of the new Concession Stand at Holliston High School.

The Super Squares Board will be at Jasper Hill Cafe on February 4th the day of the Super Bowl at 1:30 -3:00 pm, and appetizers will be provided.

A lot of fun.

The Much-anticipated Mudville Traffic Study is Here!

by Chris Cain

When I studied science in school (in addition to reading, writing, and 'rithmetic of course), the professor would say, "In God We Trust, All Others Bring Data." Holliston's Board of Selectmen must have gone to the same school because they wanted data before considering any traffic volume and speed mitigation strategies in Mudville. The McMahon group recently delivered their 104 page report to the Selectmen (and to the public via the town's website). https://www.townofholliston.us/sites/hollistonma/files/uploads/mcmahon_mudville_traffic_pattern_analysis_memo_2018-11-07.pdf Rather than having everyone read the entire report, below are some of the data presented in a 'did you know' format. Did you know the current speed limit on all streets in Mudville is exactly the same as on Route 16 in downtown Holliston - 30 mph. Looking at the compilation photo above, what might strike you - besides that there are no speed limit signs anywhere in Mudville?
