Pole Down Driver Trapped

by Bobby Blair
February 6, 2018

Police were summonsed to Woodland Street on Tuesday morning at 7:57 am for a report of wires in the road. A truck had downed a utility pole in the Holliston Oil lot and the pole along with live wires rested on top of the truck.

With live wires draped over the drivers door along with the passengers door, the driver had the presence of mind not to leave his cab. EverSource arrived at the scene at 8:32 am to turn off power at the site.

The pole above rests along side the trucks bed. With fuel tanks on the property, Fire Chief Mike Cassidy said the situation could have ended very differently.

Traffic was rerouted through the Adams School for access to the Placentino/Miller Schools.
