MEISTER, Cynthia Cindi (Cynthia) Toby Meister, 75, died peacefully at home, on Friday, March 9. She was the beloved daughter of the late Babe Hass and Rose Hass and was born on October 2, 1942 in Framingham, MA. She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Jerry (Jerome) Meister of West Hartford, and her son, Scott Meister of Holliston. Cindi graduated from Framingham High School in 1960, then attended Boston University for two years. She became a preschool teacher until she met the love of her life in 1964. Together they made a wonderful life together raising two children and living both in the United States and stationed abroad in Germany with the Army. While living on the Neu-Ulm Army Base in Germany, Cindi was an active member in the Women's Officer's Club, ultimately taking on the role of president. She chaired many successful events and spearheaded many committees on base whose aim was to make things better for the children living there. She started a gourmet club with the other officers' wives and developed into a remarkable cook. Upon returning to the states and settling in Holliston, MA, Cindi became a banker with Shawmut Bank in the Framingham area, which later became a 15 year banking career. Cindi was a former member of the Holliston Lions Club, a member of the sisterhood at Temple Beth Torah in Holliston, and an active participant in the Framingham Heart Study. Once retired, Cindi devoted herself to her children and family. She helped take care of all three of her adoring grandchildren when they were infants and toddlers. She did not hesitate to take them anywhere she went, to the hairdresser, to the nail salon or even just to the grocery store. She continued to play an important role in their lives, attending many of their sporting events, recitals and day to day activities. She was tireless as the primary care giver for her husband and son for many years at home. Throughout her life, Cindi shared her love of travel with her husband, children, grandchildren and parents. Her favorite spots included St. Thomas and many Caribbean cruise destinations. Cindi loved to vacation with her parents in Hollywood, Florida during the winter months. She was an avid collector of crystal and porcelain and was known for her impeccable taste in clothing and home decor. Cindi also enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Annually, she hosted Thanksgiving dinners and a New Year's Day open house. She was a dedicated sports fan and was not to be disturbed during the games. Cindi is survived by her daughter, Traci Blecher and son-in-law Adam Blecher, her grandchildren Zachary, Brandon and Caitlyn, her sisters Jane Levine and Sheila Ufland, and a number of other loving relatives and close friends. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Cindi during her last days. For those who have known Cindi in her fruitful journey with us, a graveside funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Framingham-Natick Jewish Cemetery in Natick. Following services, memorial observance will be held at the Meister home until 4 p.m. and continuing 7-9 p.m. Memorial observance will continue Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with Minyan services at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Temple Beth Torah, 2162 Washington St, Holliston, MA 01746.
