Tim Maxwell and Suzanne Nersessian are running for a second 3-year term on Holliston’s Finance Committee

by Press Release
May 21, 2018

Tim Maxwell and Suzanne Nersessian are running for a second 3-year term on Holliston’s Finance Committee.  Tim is a biochemist in the biotech industry with a background in quality control, quality auditing, and quality risk management.  Sue is a Managing Director at Deloitte, with a background in advisory services, risk, and financial and control audits.

Looking to continue to give back to the Town of Holliston, Tim and Sue bring forth a diverse set of analytical, financial, and leadership skills.  They both feel strongly that they can continue to have a real impact on helping address the financial needs of the community, which can have a positive influence on the quality of people’s lives. Some of the issues they are passionate about include:

  • planned and predictable capital management,
  • funding of water,
  • funding needs of the schools,
  • health insurance options for town employees, and
  • pensions/OPEB funding

Tim and Sue are not shy in challenging the status quo with a view towards creativity and innovative ideas.  In addition to their participation on the Finance Committee, both Tim and Sue serve on the recently formed Capital Sub-Committee.

They look forward to seeing voters at the Town-wide Elections on Tuesday.

The Much-anticipated Mudville Traffic Study is Here!

by Chris Cain

When I studied science in school (in addition to reading, writing, and 'rithmetic of course), the professor would say, "In God We Trust, All Others Bring Data." Holliston's Board of Selectmen must have gone to the same school because they wanted data before considering any traffic volume and speed mitigation strategies in Mudville. The McMahon group recently delivered their 104 page report to the Selectmen (and to the public via the town's website). https://www.townofholliston.us/sites/hollistonma/files/uploads/mcmahon_mudville_traffic_pattern_analysis_memo_2018-11-07.pdf Rather than having everyone read the entire report, below are some of the data presented in a 'did you know' format. Did you know the current speed limit on all streets in Mudville is exactly the same as on Route 16 in downtown Holliston - 30 mph. Looking at the compilation photo above, what might strike you - besides that there are no speed limit signs anywhere in Mudville?
