Veterans on the Move

May 26, 2018

Veterans were out Saturday morning around town and at the intersection of route 126 &16 (Rossini Corner) with their poppy sales. Below Ron Turcotte of VFW Post 8507 accepts a donation. Proceeds from the sales benefit the post's relief fund. The local post delivers dinners to local vets once monthly.

Meanwhile a band of brothers and sisters all Iraq and Afghanistan vets gather behind Caseys Crossing for a walk to Milford on the rail trail

The vets were raising funds to prevent veteran suicides of which there have been at least several connected to Holliston or former town residents in the past few years.

Across the street WWII veteran Bob Hopkins maintains his post of selling poppies and he told the HollistonReporter.com that folks have been very generous.
