#HollistonInnovates Goes to Summer School

While our students are at camp or on vacation, more than 60 teachers are volunteering to immerse themselves in Project Based Learning during a three-day professional development workshop, with generous support from the Holliston Education Foundation (HEF).

Project Based Learning is one of the key innovations in instruction that Holliston has been exploring because it is student-centered and fosters collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

Holliston Students Honored with Community Generosity

Each year, graduating seniors are celebrated at the Senior Awards Ceremony. This year, there were more than 125 applicants for various scholarships and awards. The accolades and financial contributions were significant: 60 individual students received awards from 53 different local organizations and/or foundations totaling $160,000.

In addition, many of our 11th graders were honored with book awards from colleges and universities throughout the country. This year, students received 30 book awards. The Guidance Department proudly announced four new book awards: the Le Moyne College Heights Book Award (Le Moyne College, NY), the Boston University School of Education Book Award, the Villanova University Book Award, and the George Washington University Book Award.

Clean Out Your Closets for a Cause

If you want to get rid of old clothes and shoes (or even socks, throw rugs or stuffed animals), please look for the Green Subcommittee's white bins at every school. Over the last two school years, textile donations have netted a rebate of more than $1,400 for the schools, which we plan to put toward environmental initiatives.

For the complete list of acceptable items, go to Bay State textiles.

Feel free to contact any committee member with questions or comments. Please note we all have new email addresses:
