Local Hoop Players Win Big at MA State Final K-of-C Free Throw Competition

by Press Release
June 29, 2018

Back on March 26, 2018, it was reported on HollistonReporter.com that two participants in the Knights of Columbus “Free Throw Challenge” had advanced to the Massachusetts State Championship final competition to be held at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA on April 14th.  The two basketball sharpshooters were Tyler Mottor, age 10, and Kiera Lucas, age 9.  They both advanced by winning their respective age/gender brackets at competitions held at the local, district, and regional levels.

As a follow-up to that story, it can be reported that Holliston’s own Tyler Mottor, pictured below, was able to hold off the other regional winners to be crowned the Massachusetts state free throw champion at the 10-year old boy’s level.  In addition, Kiera Lucas sunk enough baskets in the contest to finish as the second place winner in the state.  Congrats to both of them for bringing those big trophies home!
