Holliston in Bloom announces this week's Floral and Landscape Award

by Paul Saulnier
August 15, 2018

From the curb to the foundation, this Rockland Street front yard is all about the bees and butterflies.

Lots of color and a wide variety of plantings make this front yard a standout at the south end of Holliston.

Creator of all this beauty is Nasrin Morovaty who has lived here for 22 years. Standing next to this beautiful Amaranth, Nasrin uses the seeds as rice as is done in India and the leaves in salad as done in China.

Nasrin plants plenty of Bee Balm and Cone Flower to attract bees and butterflies which she says "need lots of help these days. I plant for the bees and butterflies"

Nasrin Morovaty of Rockland Street, this week's Holliston in Bloom Floral and Landscape Award Winner.

Jay Bohner: Our goal is to show readers lots of different options. Our members choose based on their own impressions - there are no rigid criteria or scores. Not all the winners have as many plants as this house, but all winners contribute to the town's appearance with attractive plantings in many different designs. Residents can nominate properties, too, so please go to our website and make a nomination. We will continue to do these awards into fall. http://www.hollistoninbloom.org
