Framingham Union Aid Assoc. Fundraiser

by Mary Greendale
October 1, 2018

The Framingham Union Aid Association was founded in 1892 with 25 volunteers and is still going strong over 125 years later!

The Framingham Union Aid Association is located at the MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham Campus, and we are involved in many hospital-based community activities. The Aid hosts educational events, participates in community service, and holds fundraising events to subsidize our annual grant awards program. Since 1998, we have awarded over $1.4 million for healthcare-related programs for MetroWest nonprofits and communities.

The Association has given grants to the Holliston Police for two years in a row – for an AED and then for 17 emergency medical packets for the cruisers. These are kits that hold tourniquet straps, bandages, ice packs, etc. This year, we gave a grant to the Holliston Fire Department ($1500) towards a special heavy duty washing machine to clean gear. The clothing gets coated with a carcinogen that is unhealthy for the personnel, and the gear must be washed after each fire. (Photo is Chief Michael Cassidy acknowledging the award at the Association's annual spring fashion show.)

How Businesses Can Help
This November, we are hosting a CALENDAR RAFFLE FUNDRAISER. All proceeds from this fundraiser will directly support our upcoming 2019 grant program to benefit MetroWest communities.

If you have a business and are willing to donate a product or gift card to the calendar, we are still collecting items. Please see below for contact information.
We are a registered 501c3, EIN 046-115-858, and donations are tax deductible.

How EVERYONE Can Help
Buy tickets for
$10 each to win a prize(s). Each ticket is good for every day in November. That means you can win up to 30 times! Prizes are valued up to $50 each and include cash, gift cards, and gift items.

The full calendar of prizes will be posted on the website at the end of October. First drawing is November 1 and winners will be notified on Facebook and by phone or email.

Newcomers' Grant Fundraiser

The 2018 Gingerbread House Grant Fundraiser was a huge success this year with help from Mount Hollis Lodge as well as the National Honor Society and the many Holliston Newcomers Club members that donated candy and their time! Our two club co-chairs, Beth Ng and Tracey Geden, did a wonderful job planning and organizing this tradition. Over 70 decorated houses adorned the lodge hall over 3 fun sessions.
