There’s Gold in That There Back Yard

Composting is often overlooked as a way to keep carbon out of the atmosphere. Food waste is a large issue in the US, accounting for 40% of all food grown. Growing food takes energy. By composting, you take what would have been food waste and turn it into plant food (what gardeners call “black gold”)! Composters are easy to make and also easy to find for purchase. Properly composted food waste does not produce bad odors.

Holliston has a program where you can get a composting bin for $22! Go to
https://www.townofholliston.us/home/pages/recycling-and-solid-waste-0
for more information.
