Friends Ramping Up for 1st Night Trail Walk

by Press Release
December 8, 2018

Join the Friends of Holliston Trails for our 6th Annual First Night Trail Walk!

Chat with neighbors, enjoy the warmth of fire pits, snack on S'mores and hot dogs, and sip hot chocolate along the trail. This is a fun family event for all ages!

We have three NEW features this year!

- Brilliant Ice Sculpture will be on hand with a live demonstration in Blair Square. Watch an artist transform a block of ice into the Holliston Panther from 5-7:30.
- On the Cross Street side of the walk, we'll have a juggler to entertain the little ones.
- AND last, but not least, we're having a fire pit contest to determine who will host the most fabulous fire pit this year! Judges will evaluate fire pits on entertainment, snack, theme, kid-friendly attraction, and neighborhood participation. Winner gets a gift certificate to host their own neighborhood pizza party.

Begin your walk from either Blair Square (Corner of Railroad St. and Central St. | 1 mile walk) or Cross Street (Behind Phillips 66 on Rt. 16 | 0.25 mile walk) and meet in Phipps Tunnel for a hot dog.

While the event is free to the public, donations are welcome.

** Parking details: please remember that many local businesses (Depot Package Store, Casey's, etc.) will be OPEN for business on December 31 during the event, so we ask that you do not park in their lots so their customers have easy access to the businesses. There is a parking lot at the Cross St start and there are several options for downtown parking (with auxiliary police to help direct traffic and pedestrians) for the Blair Sq. start. Downtown options include a small lot at Blair Sq, on-street parking, public lot on Exchange St, and another free lot up on Washington St. (The entrance is in between 763 and 757 Washington St).
