Candlelight Vigil

Holliston Democrats to hold vigil

Holliston—December 12 is the 6th anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shootings in Newtown, Conn. Members of the Holliston Democratic Town Committee invite the community to join them in a candlelight vigil to mark the anniversary. The vigil will take place Saturday, Dec. 15 at 4:00 pm on the Green at the Congregational Church in Holliston.

Vigil participants will gather in remembrance of the 20 children and 6 adults killed at Sandy Hook, as well as all victims of American gun violence. Religious leaders from the area will speak briefly and all participants will be welcome to make comments or offer readings during the vigil.

The public is invited to attend. Candles will be provided.

Holliston Lions Club to Celebrate 79 Years of Service

The Holliston Lions Club was founded on January 23, 1941 under the sponsorship of the Medford Lions Club. The Medford President that year was Elmer Tefler. His brother Walter was a charter member of the new club. Charter night occurred on March 11, 1941 at the Odd Fellows Hall in Holliston.
