Holliston Democratic Town Committee Meeting - January 12, 2009

by Press Release
January 7, 2019

The Holliston Democratic Town Committee will hold their first regular meeting in 2019 on
Saturday, January 12 at 10 a.m., in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Town Hall.

In addition to regular business, the group will be electing 8 delegates to attend a district-wide
conference on Saturday, February 9. The purpose of the February conference is to fill a district
seat on the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee left vacant by the May death of State
Rep. Chris Walsh. The 2MN District is represented by Sen. Karen Spilka and includes
Holliston, Hopkinton, Framingham, Ashland, Medway and precincts in Natick and Franklin. Each
of the town committees will hold their own caucus to elect delegates to the conference.

The Holliston DTC meeting and the election are open to the public. While only Holliston DTC
members are eligible to vote for the delegates, all registered Democrats in Holliston are eligible
to be elected to become one of the eight (4 men, 4 women) delegates to attend the conference.

Rules for an election meeting such as this require that doors to the meeting room close promptly
at 10:15 a.m., and re-open following the election. Candidates for the State Committee seat, as
well as anyone who wishes to participate in the delegate selection process, should allow
adequate time to sign in and be seated prior to the doors closing.
