EDC Hears From Local Business Owners

LtoR - Town Administrator Jeff Ritter, EDC member Matt Coletti, EDC Chair Peter Barbieri

Brian Rossini, below, of BDR Automotive, located at 1605 Washington Street (just prior to the post office) told EDC (Economic Developmen Committee) members of his efforts to purchase the former Gulf Station in the town square. Rossini stated that he himself along with his attorney had been in contact with the owners, but little had materialized from their  conversations. Rossini said he was more interested in the license which would come along with the purchase of the property rather than the property itself which he stated maybe the town could purchase it (the property) and tear it down. Rossini told the board that the owners have on numerours occasions said they had plans for the station but nothing ever seems to happens.

Rich Powers, below, attended the Wednesday morning EDC meeting to discuss ways of improving his groups membership. Powers is Co-Chair of the HBA (Holliston Business Association). Powers stated that the HBA membership is now just about defunct. Chairman Peter Barbieri directed Powers to Town Clerk Liz Greendale who maintains a list of all new businesses in town.

Chris Meo, the town's Technology Director, joined the conversation relative to the EDC's website. Meo stated that the website last year only had 30 viewers.  Meo laid out five different options to improve the website and their associated charges for updating. Members stuck with the status quo. That website can be viewed here: https://www.townofholliston.us/sites/hollistonma/files/file/file/holliston_guide_2018_web.pdf
