A Battle for Division Lead!

by Ken Robinson
January 19, 2019

Holliston Youth Basketball's 8th grade Div. 3 squad came away with an exciting, come-from-behind victory this week at Adams gym as Holliston defeated Millis 51-41 in a battle for the division lead.

The Panthers got out to a fast start behind their team defense and strong shooting from the likes of Andrew Denison (24) and others, however Millis battled back and held the lead after three quarters.

In the fourth, Holliston's team-wide defensive intensity and rebounding prowess, keyed throughout by big men Owen Zakrzewski (3), Owen McCarron (41) and Joey Gentile (21), along with clutch team foul-shooting down the stretch, spurred an impressive run which carried the home team to the win.

At the half-way point of their regular season, the 8th grade D3 boys now sit atop their division at 5-1 with a test on the road at Southboro up next.
