Blair Square Committee Meets

by Yvette Cain
January 24, 2019

The Blair Square Committee met Wednesday, January 23, at the Town Hall.

Members reviewed a draft of the committee’s 2019 MassTrails Grants Program Application prior to presenting it to the Select Board next Monday for approval.

Copies of the application were distributed to the committee and audience.  Peter Barbieri guided members through the review of the multi-paged draft that, in final form, and with the Select Board’s approval, will be submitted electronically to the State.

The Grant focuses on work to be done to a roughly 50’ x 400’ site bounded by Central Street, Railroad Street, and Church Street that is adjacent to Holliston’s Rail Trail.

The owner of Casey’s Crossing, FD Realty Trust, has agreed to easements of specific areas (1744 s.f) planned for trail and fencing.

A motion was passed to approve the edited application.

If the state approves the application, monies would become available approximately July 1, 2019, with work beginning soon after.

The Blair Square Committee meets next on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
