It Was A SOUPer Night

by Chris Cain
February 3, 2019

Soup's on!!  The calm before the doors opened.

Hundreds of Hollistonians showed up to enjoy delicious soup and support the Holliston Pantry Shelf.

Celebrity servers dished out the seven different soups from local restaurants.

Senate President Karen Spilka is seen here checking on the Bertucci's Sausage Soup.  The guy with the red hat was photobombing this shot. Officer John Loftus from HPD was pitching Chicken and Rice soup from Jasper Hill in Millis.  Way in the back is Grand Knight Al Scaramella who was serving up Casey's Chili.

The second shift of servers included: (R-L) Deputy Fire Chief Mark Dellicker; CMDR John Benda, Executive Officer of Old Ironsides (a Mudvillian too); Walter McGrath, Adjutant of Holliston's American Legion post; Doug Crowe from Griffin Electric; Officer Loftus still pitching the Chicken Rice soup; David Robinson, also from Griffin Electric; and even though you can't see her, Town Clerk Liz Greendale.

After enjoying all the soup that you wanted then you had your choice of dessert treats.

The Raffle Table was a very popular place.  This is the Pantry Shelf's major fund raiser.  It appeared to have raised a lot of funds - and a lot of fun for those who attended.

What a great community event.  Thank you to all who volunteered to make it happen.
