Police Log for Week of February 10 - 16, 2019

by Paul Saulnier
February 19, 2019

A different kind of whistle blower near Dunks, a sick/not sick skunk on Shaw Farm, a dog exits a moving car on Highland and limps away, a walk-in to HPD reports his car is missing and a man from an out-of-town septic company tells HPD he was "testing water content" in Linden Pond with his bucket.

February 10, 2019:

00:28, Summer; Zack from Bellingham got Sgt Waugh's attention and drove away with the first citation of the week.

05:30 AM, Disturbance, 404 Washington; Dunk's patron reports gun shots and "whistle blowing" in the area (too much caffeine).

February 11:

Fraud, Central; no details.

Animal incident, Shaw Farm; report of "possibly sick" skunk in the area charging the caller and her dogs. ACO determined the skunk to be OK (just hates women and dogs).

Animal incident, Mitchell; injured deer. Dispatched.

February 12:

Crash, Concord and Baker; Framingham versus Holliston. Minor.

February 13:

Animal incident, Fairview; loose dog (watch your step).

Animal incident, Highland & Prentice; report of dog being "dumped out of vehicle". Small white dog walked away with limp. HPD checked with the owner of the vehicle and it appears to be a mistake.

Larceny, HPD; walk-in reporting a missing vehicle.

Animal incident, Mitchell; driver in to claim responsibility for deer strike in February for insurance purposes (have to remember that one).

K 9 training, Boynton.

Crash, 654 Central; Upton versus Holliston. Hometown Automotive gets the call.

11:30 PM, Suspicious activity, 1485 Washington; report of footprints in the snow. K 9 called in to add a few more.

February 14:

Suspicious activity, Woodland; report of male with a bucket down by the water. HPD spoke with the person who said he was working in the area and checking the "water content" (dilution is the solution...).

Crash, 1371 Highland; no details.

Crash, Washington & Courtland; two from Holliston exchange paint and paper. One exchanges a car for more paper from Hometown Automotive.

K 9 training, Boynton.

February 15:

Crash, Kuniholm; vehicle off the road; Hometown Automotive pulled it back onto the road.

Crash, 757 Washington; Worcester versus Holliston. Minor.

B & E, Chamberlain; caller observed male going through neighbor's truck. K 9 called.

February 16:

Crash, Washington & Church; Framingham versus Oregon.

Animal incident, Gorwin; report of two dogs on the loose. Ongoing issue. ACO notified (watch both steps).

During the reporting period, 36 citations and 12 warnings were issued. Seven erratic drivers were reported. For the third straight week, no unlicensed, uninsured Framingham residents caught in Holliston. Could it be that they are getting licenses and insurance? Probably just getting the message.

Coffee was very interesting this morning. It is nice Framingham is learning that Holliston expects people to follow rules. We are not bad people BUT we respect the law and expect others to do the same. Nicely done to our police department.
