Police Log for Week of March 17 - 23, 2019

by Paul Saulnier
March 26, 2019

Rockets, swans, hawks and dogs. Just another week of high anxiety in Holliston.

Cross over it and you will be electrocuted

March 17:

Suspicious activity, Stoddard Park; report of bottle rockets being set off. Parks & Rec's science teacher in charge of blast off.

Crash, Mill & North Mill; Milford car rearranged a stone wall.

March 18:

K 9 training, Hopping Brook Park.

11 traffic stops today (something to do on a slow day).

March 19;

Crash, 635 Washington; Auburn versus Providence (if it were'nt for these crashes, we would have no idea all these out-of-towners are visiting our fair town).

Animal incident, Dunks; report of injured swan. HPD assisted the swan in moving to the side of the road (to die in peace).

Animal incident, Westfield & Travis; report of small dog apparently lost in the area. Unfounded (dog insisted it was not lost)

Erratic driver issued a summons, 414 Washington; Amin Saeid of Philly for driving an unregistered & uninsured vehicle.

March 20:

Vehicle stop with summons, Washington & Baker; Gilberto Souza of Lowell issued a summons for violating 89-9 (traffic control signs) and 90-10 (operating without a valid license).

Animal incident, Travis; caller unable to exit vehicle due to two "pit bull-like dogs". HPD passed the call on to the ACO.

K 9 training, HPD.

Crash, 470 Concord; no details.

K 9 training, 79 Lowland.

March 21;

Animal incident, Avon; small dog on the loose. HPD responded to this call but the dog ran into the woods.

Crash, 815 Washington; Pawtucket versus Ashland. Minor.

Crash, Superette; two Holliston residents vie for limited parking.

Vehicle stop with arrest, 10 Wingate; Emilson Deoliveira of Bellingham for operating with a suspended license.

Complaint with arrest, Windsor; Cedric Simpson of Holliston for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and evading a taxi fare.

Check prisoner.

March 22:

Check prisoner.

March 23:

Road hazard, Washingon & Exchange; report of large metal object in the road. Unfounded (HPD made several passes through the square without getting a flat tire).

Animal incident, Exchange; Turkey Vulture sitting on the side of the road. HPD checked. It was OK and not hurting anyone (or any turkeys).

K 9 training, 79 Lowland.

During the reporting period, 32 citations and 20 warnings were issued. One erratic driver was reported and stopped.

BWTM

A tip for Millenials, most of whom know nothing about keeping their wheels in proper balance.

Police Log for Week of June 9 - 15, 2019

Last week's lowlights include a rock party on Washington, a parade of one on Gretchen and one frustrated and creative driver solves the rush hour traffic problem down town (no he didn't shoot out the lights). Officers are taught to place a hand on the car as they approach. Why? Because if in the course of the stop the officer is murdered and the driver takes off, the officer's finger prints on the car will prove that he stopped the car.
