First Annual Holliston Town Cup - April 6, 2019

by Press Release
April 1, 2019

Hockey Tournament - Saturday, April 6th at Loring Arena in Framingham.

The first annual Holliston Town Cup hockey tournament to benefit the Holliston Pantry Shelf will be held on Saturday, April 6th at Loring Arena in Framingham, MA.  The tournament will showcase more than 50 Holliston adult hockey players who will face off in four games at 10 am, 11:10 am, 2 pm and 3:10 pm. The event is free to the public to attend.  Organizers request that all attendees bring a donation of child-friendly ‘snacks’ for the Pantry such as granola bars, pretzels, Goldfish, or fruit snacks.  The tournament is organized by Holliston High School Varsity Hockey coach Dan Geary.

“Our Holliston High School hockey student athletes have had many opportunities to support the Pantry, through food drives and our help with Pantry events like Thanksgiving Box assembly,” said Coach Geary.  “This is an exciting opportunity for the adult hockey community to join together for a fantastic and fun day of hockey while simultaneously supporting an important community resource for those in need.”

The event will be supported by Snack it Right, a Holliston High School student organization that aims to provide child-friendly snack items to local food pantries.  Collection bins for child-friendly snacks will be provided at the event.  Holliston Pantry Shelf serves more than 200 Holliston families by offering quality food selections at no cost in a private, friendly setting.

For any inquiries about the tournament, please contact Dan Geary at hollistonhshockey@gmail.com
