REGIS COLLEGE PRESENTS
"MARIAN, OR THE TRUE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD"
APRIL 11-13, 2019

Regis College presents Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood, April 11-13, 2019 at the Regis College Fine Arts Center Casey Theatre, 235 Wellesley Street, Weston, MA. Tickets are $5 for children and seniors, $10 for adults and may be purchase by visiting regiscollege.edu/fac. Free admission to Regis students at the door with ID.

“The beauty of this play is that we take the mythological story of Robin Hood and completely turn it around, dispelling any illusions to damsels in distress or the archetypal male hero in exchange for a more modern understanding of gender identity,” says Regis Fine Arts Center Director, Jennifer Potts. “Amidst the swordplay and comic mischief, we get to the real heart of the matter, that love is love regardless of outward appearances. It’s an amazingly insightful play and one that we’re excited to share with the entire Regis community.”

ABOUT MARIAN, OR THE TRUE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD
This fast-paced, hilarious new take on the classic tale of Robin Hood is part Shakespeare, part Monty Python and a whole lot of fun! Robin is and always has been Maid Marian in disguise, leading a motley group of Merry (Wo)men on a comic adventure through Sherwood Forest and up the ramparts of Nottingham Castle. This uproarious new comedy defies gender stereotypes and smashes the patriarchal establishment in the name of true love! Cast member Eben Berry is a resident of Holliston.

Civics Sunday: Celebrate Holliston Honors 2019 Citizens of the Year

by Yvette Cain

Celebrate Holliston, a town fund-raising non-profit organization established in 1991, honors volunteers Bea Hait and Ken Henderson as its Citizens of the Year. It seems only logical since Celebrate Holliston donates its time, energy, and financial support to worthwhile town projects that it would seek out those among us who volunteer their time and energies to make our community a better place to live.
