Peas Are Up at the Community Farm

Parks & Rec Director Mark Frank looks on as PJ Kilkelly instructs a half dozen kids in the proper way to plant onion sets. The co-sponsored program with the local community farm is in its second week of planting, and the kids also planted a crop of their favorites - spinach and Swiss Chard.

The late afternoon wasn't all work as the kids were able to cuddle with the farm's newest addition, 5 day old chicks. Next week's plantings include carrots and beets.
