Don't Miss the Next Four Civics Sundays!

by The Publishers
April 26, 2019

During the past ten weeks, Civics Sunday articles have provided an overview of how our town's government works and the important role that we all play in the town's future. On May 21st we go to the polls to elect the leaders who will set the course for our community.  We have invited all candidates for elected office to submit a Statement of Candidacy.  We have received several statements to date.

There are four Sundays between now and the election.  Each of the next four Civics Sundays will focus on candidate statements and a chance to review the two-sided ballot - including two important questions.  Here's how the posts will be laid out.

Sunday, April 27th:  All Candidate Statements for positions OTHER THAN the Finance Committee and the Select Board.

Sunday, May 5th: All Candidate Statements for the THREE vacancies on the Finance Committee.

Sunday, May 12: All Candidate Statements for the ONE vacancy on the Select Board.

Sunday, May 19: The election Ballot

During recent national elections the phrase, 'All Politics Is Local' became a familiar refrain.  This is our opportunity to participate at the local level right where we live and share in this community.
