Habitat for Humanity's Women Build 2019 Update

by Press Release
May 17, 2019

ERA Key Realty Services agents volunteered on Friday, May 10, working on everything from sweeping to jackhammering concrete during a home renovation at 172 Concord St. for Habitat for Humanity.

ERA Key, which is based in Northbridge and has offices throughout central and eastern Massachusetts, has helped Habitat for Humanity for many years by providing both volunteers and financial contributions. The ERA Key Realty Services Charitable Trust Foundation has given nearly $400,000 to dozens of non-profit organizations throughout Worcester County, including Habitat for Humanity, since its inception in 2004.

As a real estate agency, ERA Key has been especially active with Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that helps families that otherwise could not afford to own a home to build and improve affordable housing.

“While we work with many charitable organizations, we have a passion for housing and understand how important it is for a family’s well-being and quality of life,” said Cheryl Eidinger-Taylor, president and chief operating officer of ERA Key. “That’s why working with Habitat for Humanity is so important to us.”

Agents from several offices participated in Friday’s work day, including Jennifer Holland from the Auburn office, Carla Horn from Whitinsville and Dianne Mitchell from Worcester.

In addition to organizing work days for Habitat for Humanity, the Worcester office of ERA Key has helped Greater Worcester ReStore, which is part of Habitat for Humanity, with stocking for the holiday season for at least the past five years.

In April, the Framingham office of ERA Key split a $1,250 contribution to the MetroWest/Greater Worcester Habitat for Humanity with the Framingham Rotary Club for its Operation Playhouse MetroWest Build-a-Thon.

“Over the years we’ve contributed tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of labor to Habitat for Humanity,” Eidinger-Taylor said. “It’s important for us to give back to the community and Habitat for Humanity is a perfect vehicle for us to accomplish that goal.”

Agents from ERA Key Realty Services volunteered for a Habitat for Humanity home renovation at 172 Concord St., Holliston, on Friday, May 10. Participants included, left to right, Carla Horn from the Whitinsville office; Jennifer Holland from the Auburn office; Lee Abdella from Walsh Home Inspections; Bekka White, a student from Worcester State University, and Dianne Mitchell from the Worcester office.
