Flag Day Festivities

by Chris Cain
June 15, 2019

Students and faculty at Placentino and MIller elementary schools observed Flag Day 2019 with songs and treats.  Following the musical program indoors, the students and teachers moved outdoors.

As they exited the building, many members of the Holliston Police Department were on hand with lights flashing - not for an emergency - but for 'Popsicles with the Police.'  This is the second year of this end of the school year activity which is intended to leave the students with a 'sweet' memory of our public safety officers.

Mrs. Lupien's Kindergarten class poses with LT Thompson and SGT Dalrymple.

Hundreds of popsicles were distributed by the grateful students.  Usually it was quite easy to spot if the student had had an orange, red, or purple popsicle. There were also a few puddles of orange, red, and purple liquid left behind.

Miller Principal, David Kiem, talks with Chief Stone and other officers - probably already planning for next year's 'Popsicles with the Police.'

It would be hard to say who enjoyed the event more - the students or the police.
