Saving Lives: All In A Day's Work for HPD
Five Holliston police officers were recently cited by Police Chief John Moore for saving two lives.

When the town ambulance just can't get there fast enough, the first emergency person to arrive is often a police officer. This was the case in early April and less than a week ago when in separate incidents two males literally came back from death. To protect their privacy the names of the victims are not being given.

In early April, Officer Kenneth Belson was dispatched to a possible code. Upon arrival Officer Matt Waugh was already on scene administering chest compressions. The victim was not breathing and had no pulse. Officer Belson maintained the airway bagging the victim until the ambulance arrived. Officer Bryan DiGiorgio who was on the desk that evening was cited by Police Chief Moore along with Waugh and Belson for assisting the victim's father in CPR until officers arrived. The department determined that the victim did survive the medical event.
In the most recent medical response Detective Chad Thompson and Sergeant Craig Denman were cited for saving the life of a middle aged male who had returned from jogging. In addition to performing CPR, officers Denman and Thompson gave two shocks from a defibrillator after which the victim began to breath.
Chief Moore, in commending the five officers, thanked them for upholding the high professional standards of the department.
