This year Backstage Dance Center, located next to the Shaw’s Plaza in Ashland,
will be offering two classes called Perpetual Motion for students with special
needs.
Each class will include a warm-up, stretching, instruction in a dance
technique and dance steps, creative movement, improvisation and a cool-down
period. The emphasis will be on improved physical coordination, flexibility and
balance as well as increased self-esteem, self-awareness, and awareness of
others.
The classes will be taught by Jennifer Wiles, Board-Certified
Dance-Movement Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor. This fun,
energizing program is designed to be a positive and failure-free experience for
all.

The two Perpetual Motion classes will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m.
to 4:45 p.m. for ages 6-9, and on Wednesdays from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for
ages 10-15. Students are welcome to participate in a FREE trial class the
opening week on September 20th and 21st.
