
Holliston Drug Dealer Gets Probation

...and received probation, despite mandatory sentencing requirements.
John Banda formerly of Holliston, pleaded guilty to felony drug distribution and will
receive only probation.

John Banda, 46, was arrested by Holliston police in March, 2008, and found to be in
possession of 35 grams of cocaine and a significant amount of marijuana. According
to Assistant District Attorney David Clayton, Banda pleaded guilty Monday to felony drug charges and but will receive only four years of probation, (with the condition of 4 years house arrest) despite Massachusetts law requiring a minimum sentence of five years in prison.
Found to be drug trafficking in a neighborhood heavily populated with young children,
Banda, who had his 7-year-old twin daughters with him at the time of his arrest,
formerly lived at 152 Norfolk Street. Local police had been notified of suspicious
activity by concerned neighbors.
