Fundraising Kicks Off for Police Dept. K-9
by Bobby Blair 12/18/11
Bad guys beware. The Holliston Police Department is raising funds to make your worst nightmare about to come true.

Police dogs aren't cheap. But neither are the items thieves wish to steal from your house or the monies raised selling illegal drugs. Administrative assistant to the selectmen's office Adrea Minihan has taken on the role of raising funds for the purchase of a police k-9 dog for the Holliston Police Department. Minihan has already applied for two grants.

On Wednesday afternoon Michael Szczepan (above left), Division Manager for Allied Waste Services in Auburn presented Police Chief John Moore with a check for $500 for the purchase of a department K-9. A dual purpose dog with training can cost $33,586.25 or partially trained $28,936.25.

Those wishing to make a donation towards the purchase of a dog for the department can mail their checks to: "Town of Holliston K9 Gift Account" 703 Washington Sreet, Holliston MA 01746
