Nomination Papers Available

by Liz Greendale
February 5, 2012

Nomination papers to run for elected office in Holliston will be available on February 1, 2012.  This is a great opportunity to help your community.

Running for a Town Office and sharing your knowledge and expertise is a very rewarding and eye opening experience.  Holliston is very dependent on volunteers, which is one of the reasons it is such a great place to live.  Some offices require more time than others, but please think about giving back to the community.  The following is a list of the offices that are available this year:

Board of Selectmen   3 year term,     1 position

Board of Assessors    3 year term,     1 position

Finance Committee   3 year term,     2 positions

Finance Committee   1 year term,     1 position        (to fill a vacancy)

Board of Health        3 year term,     1 position

Library Trusree        3 year term,     2 positions

Park Commissioner  3 year term,     2 position

Planning Board        5 year term,     1 position

School Committee    3 year term,     3 positions

Water Commissioner 3 year term,     1 position

In order to run for public office a person must be at least 18 years old, be a registered voter in town and collect 50 signatures from registered voters by April 3rd.  The Town election is May 22nd

We would be happy to prepare your Nomination Papers ahead of time.  Just call the Town Clerk’s Office.

If you would like to discuss the possibilities, my office is open 8:30 to 4:30 M-F

Town Elections are non-partisan.

 Town Clerk’s Office,  508-429-0601.

 Elizabeth T. Greendale, Town Clerk
