Lamb Passing Out Seeds Door to Door

by Press Release 5/10/12

Growing Hope for the Future...

May 9, 2012. Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for State Representative in the Eighth Middlesex District, announced that he is going door to door to visit with voters to discuss both his positive vision for the future and to pass out seeds.

"This has been a long recession. It is time to turn around our economy and grow jobs. That's why today I am kicking off my door knocking effort and passing out seeds," said Lamb.

Lamb is delivering money plant seeds to voters to symbolize that he wants a growing economy and that he also wants to help people grow their savings by allowing them to keep more of their money by keeping taxes low.

"It is time for a change. Our state has both an unemployment and underemployment problem. We need to grow jobs by creating a more business friendly environment. Right now, our state is ranked the most expensive state to do business in by Forbes Magazine," said Lamb. "That's why employers like Fidelity have moved their jobs out of state. Only when the news became public did leaders at the State House react. And they still failed to keep the jobs in the Commonwealth. If they had addressed the problem of taxes and regulations proactively, it would have never happened. As a small business owner who has been through the ups and downs of the economy, I will be able to use my experience to create an environment where we can grow jobs."

Lamb believes that incumbent Carolyn Dykema is not capable of being part of the solution to revive our economy. According to the National Federation of Independent Business, the country's leading small business group, Dykema only earned a rating of 38% in 2010 which is a failing grade. "She has had her chance, and she has not made a positive difference. It is time to let a small business owner fight for us at the State House," said Lamb.

The Slate is a left wing site. On the contrary, this link has been posted in a number of places....Deval Patrick is fudging the job numbers. http://www.boston.com/Boston/politicalintelligence/2012/03/governor-patrick-oft-cited-job-numbers-incorrect-state-ranks-not/miAr5B9E0aRxmSKwbTbOkO/story.html

Speaking of Massachusetts, we're actually doing pretty well overall. (http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2012/05/massachusetts_is_the_best_state_in_the_union_.html). I certainly don't want to move in the direction of the reddest of states, which, by some measures, are underperforming the 3rd world.

Martys positions rely on using observable facts, like fidelity moving 1500 jobs to NH,and that this is another example of cause and effect from laws and rules that the legislature cooks up. Folks who reside in the parallel universe rely on innuendo to make their case. For example making the implication that there is something inherently sinister with an organization simply because they take money from someone who is also able to do the math and understands and uses math to demonstrate that there is nothing affordable in the affordable healthcare act. But on a positive note for her view, at least Dianna recognizes that a vote for Marty is for some kind of business, for which most of don't care whether it's big or small, we would just be happy to have a business climate.

65% in this state are saying we going in the wrong direction, and that's for sure. It's the bad job climate. Forbes rates this state as #1 anti-business climate--we are not an entrepreneurial culture. Fidelity moved 1500 jobs to New Hampshire. Dykema has done absolutely nothing to help the job climate here. It's miserable and stagnant.

Forgot to mention that the National Federation of Independent Business received 3.7 million dollars from Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS to fight the Affordable Health Act. NFIB is bringing the suit against health care reform before the Supreme Court. (Small businesses are actually evenly divided on their support for health care reform). Also, NFIB is a member of and has strong ties with ALEC: American Legislative Exchange which is a powerful, corporate-funded group that writes our states' legislation to serve corporate and right-wing interests. A vote for Marty Lamb is a vote for big business, not small business. http://sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Nfib

The National Federation of Independent Businesses is a highly partisan, right-wing group that endorses pretty much only Republicans (98%), and is in fact a conservative organization with a hidden agenda. It is supported by entities like Sprint and the Kochs, and its small business summit was paid for by Wells Fargo, BoA, and Wallmart. It is yet another front group for big corporate interests. They want deregulation so that they can externalize their costs (like pollution) onto us, and low taxes so they can rip off the society that nurtures them. I would be very wary of what Marty Lamb is trying to sell us. Lower taxes for whom, Marty? What regulations specifically need to go? http://vtdigger.org/2010/11/01/guertin-nfib-represents-partisan-interests/
