Panther Golf Tournament
by Bill Tobin 7/28/12
The weather was perfect for The 10th Golf Tournament to support the Holliston Panther Football program.

Twenty-eight foursomes competed in this day of golf and fun.
Current students, alumni, parents and friends totaling 112 signed on to compete in this tournament.

There were 28 teams of four golfers plus many who arrived later in the day to socialize and share in the festivities.

There was an opportunity to renew friendships, yet compete for the Trophy. Here Pete Caffrey (left) and Joe Baressi share time prior to the tournament.

Members of the football team greeted the golfers and assisted with their golf gear. Several team members and parents were not available as they were in Mississippi on a service trip for St. Mary's.

Each golfer was presented a back-pack containing snacks that had been prepared by members of the football team to be carried on the course.
Some had an opportunity to practice prior to the 1:00 tournament start.
The carts are ready to go with two carts per foursome.

And they are off... Do you recognize any golfers?

They were expected to return at 5:30 to enjoy the cocktail hour before dinner and the awarding of the many donated raffle prizes.

The Panther team had a chance to relax before the golfers returned.

Jerry and Mary Kiley, the parents of Coach Kiley, return on schedule with their partners, Charlie and Susan Russo, but failed to quailify for the trophy with a score of 65, just one under par.
The covented Panther Cup was won by Andy Porter and teammates Ed Paletsky, Gary Todd and Jim Corsi with a score of 53 of the par 66.

A great social hour followed the tournament.

Then came the feast, a delicious offering prepared by the Fairview staff.
Panther coaches, l-r, Bob Murphy, Paul Athy and Todd Kiley thank and appreciate the dedication and work that makes this Tournament Day a great success.
