Holliston Girls Field Hockey Beats Holliston Football

Holliston Pantry Shelf Announces Winner of Snack it Right Slugfest

High School Field Hockey scored a victory by collecting 845 snack items at a recent home game to benefit the Holliston Pantry Shelf.  Holliston Football collected 360 snack items, bringing the total collected to 1,205 items with an estimated value of more than $3,000.    Snack it Right, a Holliston student-led organization, organized the competition along with coaches and student leaders from the two athletic programs.   This recent competition was the third HHS Slugfest sponsored by Snack it Right, and the most successful.

“We are overwhelmed with the success that Snack it Right has had in bringing high quality snack food items to Holliston families in need,” said Steve Bradford, President of Holliston Pantry Shelf.  “It’s truly remarkable that these students have partnered so effectively with HHS athletic programs to achieve such terrific results.”

Holliston Field Hockey also credits its recent opponent, Dover Sherborn, for bringing snacks to the game to help Field Hockey top the Football program.

Coach Hickey, senior captain Kaelin Trombly, and sophomore player Lauren Geary.

“We spread the word to girls we knew at Dover Sherborn, and along with their parents, they also collected snacks to bring to the home game that day,” said Kaelin Trombly, HSS Field Hockey Captain.  “It was exciting to see how supportive our opponents were of this great cause.”
