Joint Effort to Restore Barn at Community Farm

Thanks to generous donations from the Holliston Lions Club and the Holliston Newcomers Club, the restoration project at the Community Farm is finally complete. This restoration consisted of wood milling, replacement windows and doors, and other overall building renovations. Since the barn was in such bad repair, this type of renovation would have been impossible without the assistance of these organizations.

The Holliston Community Farm is located at 34 Rogers Road and hosts several annual community events including an Easter Egg Hunt, Community Farm-to-Table dinner, a Family Farm Day event, and co-sponsor the Annual Haunted Hay Walk with the Holliston Lions Club.

Additionally, the farm rents out plots of land to local homeowners and renters who do not have room for their own flower or vegetable gardens making it a favorite spot for residents across town. They also help support our local beekeepers by providing areas for two beehives to those who have the credentials needed to properly maintain this important part of our local ecosystem.

Once again, the Community Farm will be co-sponsoring the Halloween Haunted Hay Walk with the Holliston Lions Club.

This year, there will be two separate events, one for those who really enjoy being spooked to be held on Saturday night and one on Sunday afternoon for children of all ages to enjoy the holiday.

Saturday night will feature fright sights designed for those who are ready for a spooky good time with several sites being available.

Attendees for the Sunday event are encouraged to come in full costume as there will be trick-or-treating in the woods, games, entertainment, and light refreshments available. Grab the children and join us for a fun afternoon.

Anyone who is interested in sponsoring a site should contact the chairperson, Betty Harris at halloween@hollistonmalions.org for additional information.
