Applications for the 2020 Student Trooper Program are Now Being Accepted
Student Trooper Program
The American Legion, Department of Massachusetts, Inc. sponsors a “Student Trooper Program” in cooperation with the Massachusetts State Police Academy every year.
The program’s website provides this overview, “Our desire is to recruit youths representing all communities and cultural backgrounds and to increase their understanding of the job of police officers. The program is designed to expose young adults to the demands of police training and to develop better relationships between the youth of our communities and the police that serve them.”
The program is open to students 15 to 17 years of age. Two separate 5-day programs will be held July 13th-17th & July 20-24th.
The Holliston American Legion will sponsor two high school students for the para-military type academy setting this summer in New Braintree Ma.
Applications for the Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Student Trooper Program are available from School Resource Officer DiGiorgio
Applications must be submitted by March 31st.
