Holliston Democratic Town Committee will host all registered Democrats in Holliston at a caucus to elect delegates to the 2020 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The caucus will convene in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room (105) at Holliston Town Hall, 703 Washington Street, at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14.

Caucus registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. Doors will close at 10:15. The caucus is open to the public and press, but only Holliston registered Democrats are eligible to participate in the voting. Delegates must be present at the caucus to be elected (with the exception of persons serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, with prior notice).

The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Holliston. Pre-registered Democrats must be 16 years old by February 15, 2020 to be eligible to participate and run as a delegate or alternate. Same-day registration is allowed.  All Holliston Democrats are encouraged to participate. 

Holliston will be voting to elect eight delegates and four alternate delegates to represent them at the convention. Those not elected as a delegate or alternate and who meet the qualifications can apply separately to be an add-on delegate in the following categories: youth, minority, disabled, or LGBTQ, or as a Convention volunteer.

This year’s Massachusetts Democratic State Convention will take place Saturday, May 30 at the Tsongas Center, Umass-Lowell. This year’s convention is a “nominating” convention. Delegates to the convention will be representing either US Senator Edward J. Markey, or challenger Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy, III as 2020 candidates for US Senator for Massachusetts. The candidate with the most delegate representation at the Convention will receive the Massachusetts Democratic Party endorsement prior to the September Primary Election.
