Press Release from Holliston Police Department

Residential Fire Carl Road, Holliston, MA 01746

On Sunday, March 8, 2020, at approximately 5:45AM the Holliston Police Department received an E-911 call reporting a house fire on Carl Road. Upon arrival, Holliston Police officers observed heavy smoke billowing from the home and heard residents yelling from a small window located above an attached garage. A quick assessment by the officers on scene determined that entry into the home through the front door was going to be impossible based on the heavy smoke and flames.

Officers were able to locate a ladder on the property and both climbed up onto the roof of the garage. Holliston Police Officers then pulled the male resident to safety through the open bedroom window and onto the roof of the garage where he awaited extrication from the Holliston Fire Department. Multiple attempts were made inside and outside of the home to remove the female resident with initial efforts being unsuccessful. Crews were eventually able to pull the female resident to safety through the same bedroom window and onto the garage roof. The two residents were then brought to the ground via ladder for treatment and transport.

The two residents were initially transported to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham by Holliston A-1 with paramedics from Fallon Ambulance and paramedics from the Ashland Fire Department. Both residents were eventually transported to Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA for further treatment.

Two Holliston Police Officers were transported to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham for evaluation and smoke inhalation. Both Officers were treated and released from the hospital on Sunday, March 8, 2020 and are resting comfortably at home.
